There are oodles of portable chargers on the market, but carrying an extra gadget that serves only one purpose is inconvenient. That’s why this solar charger, called SolarBook, which doubles as a notebook is so awesome. The solar panel within SolarBook is one of the world’s most advanced and extremely efficient, with a 23% Photovoltaic conversion rate. Located on the SolarBook is a USB cable with a 5V / 960 mAh power output that will charge any USB compatible device such as your smartphone or tablet. The SolarBook can fully charge an iPhone in only 2 hours, similarly to a wall charger. SolarBook currently comes in five colors and is made with felt and leather with the ability to attach and customize all panels and pages. It is ultra-thin at only 0.7mm as well as light at 430g. This is 30% thinner and 20% lighter than the closest solar panel on market, providing the same power. For further customization, users even have the option of detaching the solar panel. Best of all, SolarBook will be available to backers for only $29.
