Verterra is Australia's first full service Ecological Engineering Company. Verterra has integrated capabilities in research, consulting and operational management, specialising in vegetation, land and water management for delivery of environmental services and production of bio-renewables from managed and natural vegetation.
Verterra was founded in 1999 as a specialist technical advisory consultancy focussing on technology, production systems and intellectual property in the forestry, agricultural and natural resource management sectors. The company was restructured in 2008, and has since grown rapidly to provide integrated research, consulting and operational management services. Verterra specialises in providing vegetation, land and water management services, to a wide range of industry sectors including oil and gas, mining, energy, power, water resources, forestry and agriculture.
Verterra’s main areas of consulting include soil surveying, detailed land assessment, site-species matching, feasibility studies for irrigated forest and crop development, general environmental consulting, environmental monitoring, hydrogeology and economic evaluation of alternative crop options. Verterra also specialises in consulting advice in relation to land management for delivery of environmental services including carbon bio-sequestration, vegetation offsets, habitat management and by-product water management. Verterra has particular expertise in the full spectrum of capabilities required to undertake feasibility studies into irrigated solutions for beneficial use of waste and by-product waters.
Verterra’s main areas of operational delivery include establishment and management of intensive forest plantations (dryland and irrigated), establishment and assessment of bio-diverse native forest, and intensive fodder crops (dryland and irrigated).
Verterra combines highly skilled and nationally certified environmental scientists, with highly experienced land, crop, irrigation and vegetation management practitioners, to develop and implement innovative end-to-end solutions.
