This presentation will focus on the technological and business development of energy-saving fans. In Taiwan, ceiling fans and pedestal fans are popular in households. More than 10 million of fans are currently in use and over 2 million new fans are sold annually. Energy-saving fans not only save energy but are also great business opportunities. The electronic-controlled brushless DC motors are developed to replace traditional single-phase induction motors for ceiling/pedestal fan application, resulting in energy savings of between 50% to 80%.
