Bacteria plant pathogens are responsible for major economic losses in agriculture. Bacterial outbreaks are generally problematic to control due to lack of effective bacteriocides and resistance development of bacterium. Bacteriophages have recently been evaluated for controlling phytobacteria and are now commercially available for some diseases. However, the efficiency of phage still depends greatly on prevailing environmental factors as well as susceptibility of the target organism.
