Zero Waste Campaign (ZWC) was introduced in 2011 under UMCARES, UM's environmental secretariat to kick-start a long term campaign to achieve an integrated and sustainable waste management model and ultimately a zero waste campus. In the next 5-10 years, ZWC plays a vital role to formalize the recycling collection under UM and further increase the organic waste recycling with green waste shredding and composting. Besides environmental benefits, ZWC brings various benefits such as academic research opportunities, contribute in UM LCCF target and servce as platform to improve students' soft skill and entrepreneur skill.
